Eesti esireket Mark Lajal (ATP 269.) kaotas Winnipegis toimuval ATP Challenger 75 turniiri põhitabeli avaringis austraallasele Philip Sekulicile (ATP 241.) 5:7, 6:4, 3:6.

Kõigis kolmes setis asus eestlane murdega juhtima, aga esimeses ja kolmandas ei suutnud ta edu hoida ning Sekulic võitis kohtumise neljandalt matšpallilt.

Lajal lõi kümme serviässa, aga tema esimene serv õnnestus vaid 55-protsendiliselt ja ta andis vastasele koguni 18 murdepalli, millest austraallane realiseeris küll vaid neli.

Kvalifikatsioonis sai Lajal jagu kahest vastasest: kõigepealt alistas ta ameeriklase Ryan Seggermani (ATP 475.) 6:3, 6:7 (5:7), 6:0 ja seejärel jaapanlase Hiroki Moriya (ATP 413.) 6:3, 6:1.

Eelnevalt Wimbledoni tenniseturniiril põhitabelisse jõudnud eestlane pidi avaringis tunnistama tiitlikaitsja Carlos Alcarazi (ATP 3.) paremust 7:6 (7:3), 7:5, 6:2.
